Sequoyah Fellowship
For American Indian Students/Studies
The Graduate School offers a dissertation fellowship within the prestigious Society of Fellows for scholarship by American Indian graduate students or related to American Indian issues — the Sequoyah Fellowship for American Indian Students/Studies. This new fellowship raises the visibility of American Indian issues and students. It is open to both American Indian graduate students doing research on any topic or any graduate student doing research on American Indian topics.

Students can apply for the Sequoyah Fellowship. This competitive fellowship allows doctoral students to focus on their research and dissertation for an entire academic year. A very competitive financial award, the Sequoyah Fellowship includes a stipend, tuition, health insurance, and travel funding. In addition, the Sequoyah Fellowship is within the Society of Fellows, which supports and nurtures members through the mentoring of senior faculty, interdisciplinary learning, and leadership development opportunities.
