This is the first ever Weiss fellows blog. This is a space for the 2007-2008 fellows to reflect on urban livability, community projects, speakers, interdisciplinary learning, Charles and Shirley, and anything else that might be pertinent. Since this is part of our project for the year, the content of the space will be constantly evolving. Stay tuned for exciting entries!

Greetings Fellows!
Our service project is off to a great start! I can't wait to see all that we will have
gathered by the end of the month.
This Thursday our guest speaker will be Mat Despard from the UNC School of Social Work.
Mat has extensive experience working with community organizing and will be talking about
projects such as Durham CAN, which is coalition based on the organizing model of Saul
Alinsky.
