Awards Recognizing Graduate Students
Boka Hadzija Award for Distinguished University Service
Boka Hadzija Award for Distinguished University Service by a Graduate or Professional Student was established in 2000 by UNC-Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy faculty member Dr. Boka Hadzija to honor students whose character, scholarship, and leadership provide an example of service to the University.
Eligibility is extended to any graduate or professional degree-seeking student who is enrolled during the current academic year. Nominations are welcomed from any faculty, staff, or student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. To nominate a student, simply use the Chancellor’s Awards nomination form and indicate you are nominating the student for the Boka W. Hadzija Award. The recipient will be recognized with a cash award and plaque at the Graduate School’s Student Recognition Ceremony on April 3, 2008 and also at the Chancellor’s Award Ceremony in April 2008.
GEAB Impact Award
Graduate Education Advancement Board Impact Award recognizes and showcases graduate student research that has a direct impact on the state of North Carolina. Research can be in its early stages, currently ongoing, or completed. Research that impacts society in general, including North Carolina, will also be considered. IMPACT Award winners will receive a cash prize and recognition during the Graduate School's Annual Student Recognition Event on April 3, 2008.
Awards Recognizing Graduate Faculty
Faculty Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring
Faculty Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring recognizes graduate faculty who provide outstanding support and guidance to their doctoral students. This award will be presented during the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony. All graduate students who receive their doctoral degrees in 2007-08 are invited to nominate faculty members for this award. The deadline for nominations is April 4, 2008.
