Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad

The Fulbright-Hays DDRA Fellowship Program provides opportunities to doctoral candidates to engage in dissertation research abroad in modern foreign languages and area studies. The program is designed to contribute to the development and improvement of the study of modern foreign languages and area studies in the United States.

You will submit your application through the Department of Education's G6 grant management system. The required materials include:

  1. Basic Personal Data on Application Form
  2. CV
  3. Narrative (project description)
    • No more than 10 pages
  4. Bibliography
    • No more than 2 pages
  5. Host Country Supporting Materials
    • Letters of invitation, affiliation, etc., optional
  6. Transcripts
    • Graduate required; undergraduate, optional
  7. References (3)
    • One must be dissertation advisor
  8. Language Reference(s)
  9. IRB narrative

The Graduate School will review materials and submit the final application on behalf of all eligible applicants.
